The RIES projectโs latest intervention in dairy was the one-day forum titled โ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญโ, held in Colombo on ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐. Attended by over ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ฌ at national and provincial levels โ representing the ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ, ๐๐๐๐, ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ฌ – ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฌ, ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ the forum shared the ๐๐๐๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฒ.
The innovations introduced by RIES included the ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ to train peer farmers, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ญ-๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐๐๐ก๐ง๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฌ to mitigate the climate impact, ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐ฌ to address the shortage of improved dairy-breeds, and the ๐๐จ๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ค ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง to set the standards for Dairy Value chain.
The event featured ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง, and a keynote speech. The event did promote ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ฌ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ among the participants.
The ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ-๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง with 4 experts has resulted a ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ on dairy sector with ๐ซ๐๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง. The report will be handed over to the ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐๐ค ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ by a group of stakeholders including ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐จ, for governmentโs attention.
